950 Western Australian Biographical Index (WABI) State Library of Western Australia Author Not Specified 2016-07-28T05:59:15.171170 2022-05-25T18:46:13.320421 The Western Australian Biographical Index (WABI) is a highly used resource at the State Library of Western Australia. A recent generous contribution by the Friends of Battye Library (FOBS) has enabled SLWA to have the original handwritten index cards scanned and later transcribed. The dataset contains: several csv files with data describing card number, card text and url link to image of the original handwritten card. The transcription was crowd-sourced and we are aware that there are some data quality issues including: * Some cards are missing * Transcripts are crowdsourced so may contain spelling errors and possibly missing information * Some cards are crossed out. Some of these are included in the collection and some are not * Some of the cards contain relevant information on the back (usually children of the person mentioned). This info should be on the next consecutive card * As the information is an index, collected in the 1970s from print material, it is incomplete. It is also unreferenced. It is still a very valuable dataset as it contains a wealth of information about early settlers in Western Australia. It is of particular interest to genealogists and historians Work began on WABI in the early 1970s when information was sought on people who lived in Western Australian prior to 1914. Publicity was sent out through local libraries, historical groups and in publication such as the West Australian. Western Australians were asked to provide genealogical information, not only on prominent identities, but also from their family records including the arrival in Western Australia, occupations, dates of birth, marriages and deaths of their ancestors. Historical material such as diaries, letters, business records, minute books, maps, family trees and photographs, were also sought for copying. Entries for the index closed in December 1979, and were filed at the Battye Library for reference. We were recently delighted to discover that the WA Genealogical Society has made use of this dataset. 962 Western Australian Biographical Index (WABI) State Library of Western Australia Author Not Specified 2016-07-28T05:59:15.171170 2022-05-25T18:46:13.320421 The Western Australian Biographical Index (WABI) is a highly used resource at the State Library of Western Australia. These include: Almanac listings, Colonial Secretary's Office Records, Police Gazettes, various police department occurrence books and letter books, police journals, government gazettes, estimates, York police records etc. Entry is by name of policeman. Information given varies but is usually about appointments, promotions, retirements, transfers etc. The Western Australian Biographical Index (WABI) is a highly used resource at the State Library of Western Australia. It is of particular interest to genealogists and historians. data.wa.gov.au https://catalogue.data.wa.gov.au/dataset/dd4ee469-0a8b-4da1-bdc3-962f9f515f5c     WABI police subset https://catalogue.data.wa.gov.au/dataset/dd4ee469-0a8b-4da1-bdc3-962f9f515f5c/resource/bdf8c00f-a77b-4f17-a0f4-106cac836010/download/police-final.csv CSV This CSV file has 3 columns with the headings: card number; card text and url. 2016-07-28T07:51:50.036671 2016-07-28T07:51:50.002517   Creative Commons Attribution 4.0

The term 'Decisions' is not strictly applicable to Cabinet in the legal sense as the exercise of statutory powers is normally the legislative responsibility of individual ministers or of the Executive Council. Information recorded in Decisions includes the location and date of the meeting, decision number, submission number, title, and decision and circulation statement (for example, 'all ministers'). Each decision has been stamped and signed by the Secretary to Cabinet. A statement of certification as a correct copy is also stamped. The circulation records include the decision number, location and date of the meeting, subject, submission number (number or oral submission), number of copies made and circulation details (number, name of minister or department, date and time). Cabinet submissions were intended to lead to cabinet decisions and come in four distinct forms: policy, authority to prepare a Bill, authority to introduce a Bill, and authority to forward significant subordinate legislation. Every year, State Library completes the ODI Open Data Pathway maturity assessment to review the activities of our open data program. The Open Data Pathway is a self-assessment tool developed by the Open Data Institute (ODI) in the UK: http://pathway.theodi.org/ The assessment poses a series of multiple-choice questions based around the themes of Data management processes, Knowledge & skills, Customer support & engagement, Investment & financial performance, and Strategic oversight. The answers we provide allow the tool to score our progress for each theme. These results help to identify areas of improvement and set specific actions to meet our open data goals for the financial year. data.qld.gov.au https://data.qld.gov.au/dataset/3f48e308-5572-491d-9a00-2208d70b4562     2019 Answers - Open Data Maturity Assessment https://www.data.qld.gov.au/dataset/3f48e308-5572-491d-9a00-2208d70b4562/resource/8f3b29bb-3e3b-4939-a923-7e02fb757d42/download/2019-answers-open-data-maturity-assessment.csv CSV State Library of Queensland's 2019 answers to each question in the ODI Open Data Pathway maturity assessment. 2019-10-30T05:09:45.343910 2019-10-30T05:09:45.275683 10752.0 Creative Commons Attribution 4.0

This includes bibliographic information about viewed items and activity details for each ‘view’ on Unstacked. Unstacked is a real-time visualisation of resources users are accessing from the State Library of Queensland’s online catalogue. As onsite and offsite users select items in the catalogue, the cover or preview image for the item appears in Unstacked. So, when an image appears, it means someone just looked at that item. Users on Unstacked can select the image to view more details about the item and click through to the item’s record in the State Library catalogue. The Unstacked database stores information about each item and ‘view’ interaction that it visualises. This includes bibliographic information about the item (title, publisher, date, description, subject, ISBN, etc.) and activity details for each view (date/time, onsite/offsite, display image URL, etc.).
