• Cabinet decisions are given the formal title 'Minutes'. The term 'Decisions' is not strictly applicable to Cabinet in the legal sense as the exercise of statutory powers is normally the legislative responsibility of individual ministers or of the Executive Council. Information recorded in Decisions includes the location and date of the meeting, decision number, submission number, title, and decision and circulation statement (for example, 'all ministers'). Each decision has been stamped and signed by the Secretary to Cabinet. A statement of certification as a correct copy is also stamped. The circulation records include the decision number, location and date of the meeting, subject, submission number (number or oral submission), number of copies made and circulation details (number, name of minister or department, date and time). Cabinet submissions were intended to lead to cabinet decisions and come in four distinct forms: policy, authority to prepare a Bill, authority to introduce a Bill, and authority to forward significant subordinate legislation. Submissions include the submission number, copy number and the name of the person or department making the submission. Each submission is stamped with the date and time received. Supporting documentation for submissions are included, such as plans, reports and bills. 1

The file on each case contains the writ of summons and associated documents such as entry of appearance, affidavits, bill of costs, certification of taxation, pleas, declaration, notice of motion for a new trial, joinder of issue, praecipes, fi fa, exhibits, replication, bond, interpleader, application of search, consent order, certificate of lower scale (costs), papers for the judge, petition, summons for directions, judgment nisi, judgment by default for want of appearance, judgment, discontinuance of action etc. Writs include cases of admiralty, defamation, unpaid debts or wages, negligence (sometimes resulting in death), breach of agreement or contract, trespassing, damages, dissolution of marriage, dissolution of partnership, negligent driving, possession of land, income tax, injunctions restraining, etc Matrimonial writs are marked "Mat" or "Matrimonial". Matrimonial petitions were kept as a separate series from 1861 to 1894 and from 1961 to 1976; from 1894 to 1961 they were kept together with other writs. Note: The majority of writs for 1961 and 1962 were destroyed in a Supreme Court fire in 1968. 1

• Dunwich Benevolent Asylum was established 13 May 1865 when inmates were first transferred to the Dunwich Quarantine Station from the Benevolent Ward attached to the Brisbane Hospital under the Benevolent Asylum Wards Act of 1861. The Asylum continued to operate until it was officially closed on 30 Sep 1946. It provided for poor people who because of age, accident, infirmity or otherwise were unable to care for themselves. The Index /dataset lists inmates admissions and discharges, deaths and burials. An inmate may have been admitted, discharged and readmitted several times in their lifetime; not all inmates have a death or burial recorded. Inmates could be discharged to Brisbane Hospital or the Reception House. These records are held at [Queensland State Archives](https://www.archivessearch.qld.gov.au/). 1

On the front are included the type of certificate, the name of the recipient, the reasons for granting the certificate, the date of issue, and the signatures of the Chairman, Secretary and members of the Marine Board. On the back are included the certificate number, address, date of birth and signature of the recipient, and the date and place where the examination was held. 1

This series consists of registers, kept by the Assistant Immigrant Agent, Rockhampton, which record the arrival of immigrants at the Immigration Depot at Rockhampton. There is some variation in the details entered in the registers. The details for each entry in the register 1884 - 1885, 1890 - 1915 include the name of the ship and the date of arrival, the immigrants' names, adults - whether married or single, children - aged 1- 12 or infants under 1; the class of passage is also sometimes included. At the back of this register are some loose papers that contain passenger lists and correspondence relating to ships' arrivals. The details for each entry in the registers 28 March 1885 - 14 February 1901 include the name of the ship and the date of arrival, the immigrants' names, ages, whether married or single, their trade or occupation, country of origin, date of departure from depot, names or persons by whom engaged, or their own private residence if they have one (where travelling to). 1
